工蚁体长2.4-3.1mm。黑色，上颚红褐色至黄褐色，跗节白色至黄白色。体暗，无光泽，后腹较亮。

注：该蚁在台湾被核定为褐狡臭蚁（Terayama，2009），但在Antwiki上依然为有效蚁种。

中国广西（青龙山、弄岗、大瑶山、西大名山、大王岭、十万大山、南宁、桂林、柳州、梧州、玉林、百色、钦州、北海、金钟山）、山东（青岛、济南）、湖南、云南（西双版纳）、福建（福州、鼓岭、Kusang）、广东（广州、七星坑、鼎湖山、车八岭、惠东、龙门、河源、清新、平远、连州、乳源、深圳（南山、罗湖、宝安、福田、盐田））、海南（昌江、尖峰岭、万宁、五指山、佳西）、澳门、香港（大埔、沙田）、贵州（梵净山、大沙河）、未定地名（Black Liang）、河南（济源、夏邑、宁陵）、湖北（恩施、来凤、宣恩、鹤峰、咸丰、十堰、房县、随州、新洲）、重庆（大巴山）、陕西；日本，朝鲜半岛，东南亚，澳大利亚，整个东半球的热带亚热带地区。
